As the leaves mature they’ll gradually become more green; for now they remain yellowy red.

  1. Such beautiful leaves, looking so delicate, flushed with red when they are so young. Your photographs make them look so vulnerable, I’m so glad they survived the strong winds we had last week!

    • Hi Pauline,

It’s quite shaded where the tree is and I’ve purposefully left a cotoneaster next to it to provide a windbreak as well as the hedge being quite high a few metres away, plus it’s still only small so doesn’t suffer much in wind – although when it’s full height I imagine it will suffer wind burn.
