  1. It does indeed make a lovely foil for the other plants and the fineness of the petals allows the sun to shine through – very lovely. It looks a little lighter than Mrs Bradshaw – as HeyJude says, do you have a name?

  2. Liz, here is the reply I posted on my blog but you might not get back to see: I have thought of Veronicastrum ‘Fascination’ but don’t know if I have enough room to make a good stand of it. There’s one spot but I think I might prefer Thalictrum ‘Elin’ instead, if I can find it. Both of these tall ones are hard to source.
And yes, golden hour is magical with your camera in your garden! You make me like my TT geum better. I cut both my plants in half last month and now they’re scrawny, but next year I hope they’ll make an interesting show with a deep navy siberian iris planted nearby. Nice how they do keep blooming a long time. I am so impatient for my backyard to quit looking scrawny – everything is scrawny and there’s too much dirt showing – but I need to be patient. Grumble, grumble.

    • Hi VW,

Your Geum should fill our next year… Mine this year were enormous with masses of blooms (as you can see). Compared to last year they’re poles apart; these were bought last year. I think I’ll have to bring this combo to the new garden once we move… I’m hoping I have another, similar-facing garden so I can catch the evening sunset… Although, it would also be nice to be able to get the rising sun. As it is I can’t really take photos until around 11 once the sun comes round.
Hrrm, I have a keep purple Iris that might make a nice combo with TT too; might be something to try.
