Foliage Day – July 2013

For this foliage day I’m only featuring grasses because everything else you have seen already, nothing has just popped up and nothing is showing autumn colours. With it now being grass season, it’s hard to post anything else except their beautiful feathery heads.

I’m in love with this… I’ve never seen it looking quite so beautiful. I can really see where it gets its name with the amazingly elegant arching heads before they open.

  1. Lovely images Liz, mine aren’t flowering yet, probably because they are still trying to get established, no easy trick in such a dry, hot spell. And thanks for asking, am doing OK, tired after a spell of DIY, all to be explained in upcoming post…

    • Hi Janet,

I think this is the first year I’ve seen the seeded Pheasant’s Tail Grass bloom, so it’s taken it a few years to mature to produce them.

Tell me about it, all chores in the house and garden have been all but abandoned because realistically they could only be done at 11pm when it’s cool enough (even that’s questionable).
