Sunday Safari

A few photos from last week…

The Peacocks for some reason seem to like the Violas in this hanging basket… I sort of wondered if they were laying eggs, but I believe they exclusively lay on stinging nettles, so it seems unlikely. A few times I’ve seen them fluttering around and landing on the violas.

Over the years I’ve learnt that the butterflies like sunbathing on the wall. All I have to do is sit on the steps and soon enough they will settle next to me.

  1. Hi Liz,

Lovely close shots……have seen several peacocks here but not much else sadly.
I did see an orange tip one day last week and a brimstone when walking Nella. Numbers seem to be down here considering how warm it has been.

  2. Certainly butterflies around here in the last few weeks – not sure which though. You have surpassed yourself with these photos, Liz – absolutely wonderful!

  3. I have just found your blog and love your beautiful photographs! I have seen a few butterflies already this year, but not as close up as your pictures – what a great way to appreciate their beauty.
