A few photos from last week…

The Peacocks for some reason seem to like the Violas in this hanging basket… I sort of wondered if they were laying eggs, but I believe they exclusively lay on stinging nettles, so it seems unlikely. A few times I’ve seen them fluttering around and landing on the violas.

Over the years I’ve learnt that the butterflies like sunbathing on the wall. All I have to do is sit on the steps and soon enough they will settle next to me.

    Lovely close shots……have seen several peacocks here but not much else sadly.
    I did see an orange tip one day last week and a brimstone when walking Nella. Numbers seem to be down here considering how warm it has been.

  2. Certainly butterflies around here in the last few weeks – not sure which though. You have surpassed yourself with these photos, Liz – absolutely wonderful!

  3. I have just found your blog and love your beautiful photographs! I have seen a few butterflies already this year, but not as close up as your pictures – what a great way to appreciate their beauty.
