In a Vase on Monday

The last of the tulips has been a massive disappointment; their colour being completely misrepresented by the label. They looked to be pink (Tulip ‘Peach blossom’), but instead they’ve turned out orange. In fact this one is the most orange of the bunch, the others were pretty much yellow. With them being the last, it somehow seems so much more disappointing. After all, there are no other bulbs to replace them now.

    • Hi Pauline,

I think they were just a little sickly and on close-up there are signgs of pink trying to come through. There were a few wasted stems on them that never really grew and fully bloomed.

    • Hi Joanna,

It’s surprising how often things are mis-labelled… I’ve had a few occasions where I don’t have the correct plant I ordered, on one occasion I ordered a nora barlow aquilagia and got meadow rue instead!

  1. Oh what a shame that the colour did not match the label Liz. Is it worth contacting the company that you bought them from? I did this once with bulbs that were not were what they were supposed to be and got free replacements the next season. The streaks make me wonder if they are suffering from a virus but what a fabulous colour combination with the bluebells 🙂
