In a Vase on Monday
Another quick, or rather short post today as I appear to have neglected to take wider full-view shots of this week’s vase. Quite why I don’t know. I’m suspecting I intended to take photos later, when the sun wouldn’t blow out the darker Dahlia as much, but then didn’t. Not only that I didn’t take macro shots of all the Dahlias, there was one in there which has a darker plum-red under petal. I’ve shown it before – I think it’s in last weeks’ vase.
So I’m afraid, you can’t see the full vase this week.
Next year I want to add some of the whites or creams as there’s a lot of pink/red going on. Not that it’s a problem but I think whites would really add to the collection, perhaps I’ll even have some of the salmon pink ones too which may come as a surprise to some of you who know I am no fan of yellow/orange. And least of all pinky orange.

Even without the long view, the macro views are fabulous of the blooms especially those pink dahlias.
Hi Donna,
I’m having a difficult time trying to decide which ones are my favourite… I don’t think I can choose! I like all of them for different reasons and think I really need to add some lighter colours too. So some cream or whites would work nicely with all of them.
Great to have Dahlias at this time of the year. Do you manage to over winter these in the ground?
Perfect dahlias…love the variety of form and petal shape.
these pink and crimson dahlia’s are lovely, great colour combinations and styles.
i’ve only got a couple in my garden but I think they might make an appearance next week in my vase 🙂
love bec xx
Oh my, how gorgeous are these dahlias! 🙂
Stunning dahlias. I love them but hubby won’t have them in the garden. He’s got a phobia of spiders and earwigs and he thinks they attract them. I’m determined to sneak a few in for next year though
Simply stated: breathtaking.
Beautiful dahlias, I love the incredible form of the pompom ones but don’t have any. But all of them are so lovely, and your colors go together so beautifully. I like peach too, though, which can look lovely with purple, so it’s interesting you are considering pinky oranges.
Gorgeous dahlias. I especially like that pink and white one.
